I'm more than happy to send it off anywhere. I don't think I implied anywhere that I didn't want the cart to leave the UK.
I don't have the facilities or knowledge to dump it personally.
Sheesh. I'll start a thread at howdy doody's & see if I can get any further. |

howdy doody nooooooooo. If you don't have a problem sending it to the US, I can get you in contact with Kev, who'll probably be happy to do it. We always kind of assume people in Europe don't want to send stuff to the states because it really can be expensive and a pain in the ass.
edit:PM sent |

At the risk of probably reopening lingering but long dormant feelings (not to mention unwanted discussion), howdy doody is a douchebag. |

I heard somewhere that he's from Mexico, but I'm not positive on that. |

We should soon know if it's a 'real' prototype. |

Any word on the dump status of this game? I'm kinda stoked to see the results. |

So much for 5 seconds. I just hope the guy didn't get ripped off and at least got his cartridge back. |

Yeah the cart got dumped- unfortunately it is the same checksum as the commercial release.
Nonetheless- it will be listed as a confirmed good dump [!] in the next GoodNes.
Kevin dumped it for me, I'm hoping to sell it on through howdy doody at some stage.
Sorry guys- a load of hype about nothing I guess |

It's cool man. It's great just that you took the time and trust into having it dumped. |

Yeah, I'd rather confirm a proto as being a release build than keeping it undumped and having to wonder. It's still cool to own an authentic prototype of any game, even if it is a final build. |

Nice one guys, I am most appreciative. It is my honour to donate, believe me.
I have to ask though- could someone update me or link me to the reason there is beef with howdy doody? I am on the verge of doing a lot of box / manual scanning for him and would like to know.
I have a lot of respect for both camps.
Cheers. |

There aren't any "camps" here, I personally have no problem with howdy doody. A lot of people just don't agree with the way he organizes his tools or...something. |

He doesn't make corrections, when he does they're anything but timely, he takes forever or so to release updates that HAVE the corrected information, and his licensing terms are fucking ridiculous. That's about it in a nutshell.
The guy is a grade A douche, in my opinion, but we don't need to get into a fight or even have a discussion about it. Everyone has their own opinions, and the guy HAS made a contribution on at least some level if you can appreciate or like what he's doing/has done. An argument about what he does and how he does it seems to pop up everywhere every few months, and it's just kinda tired by now. (Sure, maybe I'm not helping by calling him a douche, but you know, I don't feel like arrowing up a few rows and editing it.)
If I were you and about do a lot of work to his (and possibly/eventually, everyone's) benefit, I would ask that my contributions not be restricted by his license but instead be allowed to be used by anyone anyhow anyway any time they wish. But, hey, that's me. |
