I'm not malevolent, I'm restating the facts with a little embellishment. |

I, for one, don't like when somebody pastes my private conversations publically, without permission. Kinda defeats the 'private' thing. And that goes both about posting PMs on the forum and his post in your article. How come you have asked his permission and exchanged so many PMs and suddenly you wrote a quote of his in your own article, unbeknownst to him?
Also, I fail to see how a majority is more important than a minority. It's not quantity that counts, it's the quality. And I wonder where you get your numbers from. How are you to count which group is bigger, the people who (supposedly) send fan-mail, or the people just don't care about your article? Do you seriously expect every single person not happy with your article to tell you about it? Man, if did that, I'd be doing nothing except mailing people 24/7.
To end my post, I'd like to note that you didn't 'just' call these forums 'secret'. You did it for a certain 'drama' effect. You, JSczep, the greatest journalist of the decade, uncover the top secret, hidden by men in black, facts, games, etc. At least that's the impression you were trying to make. |

I wasn't!
You write like a complete mental. And not in a good, Digitiser way. Your attempts to be chummy fall flat and your ethics are abysmal (I saw those two pages of filler you copied in your own words from the Insert Credit frontpage, you hack). You're mediocre and the industry is a better place without you, frankly. |

I like how whatshisface specifically names me in that thread and tries to get people to talk shit, and everyone ignores him. |

Even more pitiful is how he defends his idea of journalism. It's meant to " entertain and enthuse, they’re meant to be exciting."
Oh rly? I thought articles and journalism were supposed to inform, educate, etc. The enthusing and color are styles, not basis, of good reporting.
Maybe this dude graduated from the National Enquirer school of journalism.
Anyway, he looks like fucking Bea Arthur. And dude that resembles Bea Arthur is suspect in my book (an exciting, entertaining, enthusiastic book, I may add). |

If you're going by the Ichi philosophy of any non-fiction writing or discussion panels, it's all those things, but if you can manage to entertain without straying away from the facts, then that's just an added bonus. It's not always easy, and sometimes it's not always possible. But it should never be the priority. The moment that you stray from the facts, pull shit out of your ass, and focus on sensationalism, you fail as not only a journalist, but as a non-fiction writer in general.
And no, I don't admit to being a writer on a professional basis. Everything I've written to date has been non-profit. In fact, I haven't been able to do hardly any writing the past year due to personal issues. But if there's one thing I do know, it's that I am a damn good one, and when it comes to whatever subject I'm given, I don't stray from the facts. Even when I'm given very few facts to go on and have to resort to speculation, even that is determined by surrounding outside factors and is noted that, although researched, it is pure speculation.
As far as trying to start a pissing contest with Frank simply because you either felt it would add "sensationalism" to your article or you were so thick headed as to take his statement (from an internet forum, mind you) as hostile, that's not exactly earning you any credibility points either.
If you're not bullshitting about given up writing, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. Gaming journalism gets enough shit as it is, and it doesn't need more wankers like you pissing in the pool. To quote some guy, "You couldn't catch a clue if you were in a clue field drenched in clue pheromones in the middle of Clue Season."
damn I'm classy. |

Is there actually a moderator around here? A sherrif? An officer of the law? A peace officer? Somebody with some sense of respect and not a New Yorker? |
