While not a wiki, anyone can write articles for xcult. It's not a Wiki especially because of abuse.

Or you can write something for another website and xcult will just steal it. Either way.

Reading the Biohazard 4 articles makes me cry. Whoever wrote that hasn't played the game much or at all.

Quote:
Once again, an older HUD. This time you see the 'bubble' it's in blinking to tell you you're out running low on ammo.

Quote:
The church looks bare and barron in this picture, in the final it looked very much filled with high stools. The HUD is also different and not blinking red even though Leon's ammo meter is showing 00.

Quote:
Old HUD, which once again, is not blinking red from lack of ammo.

Its blinking to tell you your about to die from the giant boulder that just crushed you.

Quote:
This enemy does not exsist in the final. It looks sort of a camando kind of bloke.

They are from the bridge near the church. Its just a plain ganado, That is how they jump over to you. Its one of the most used models in the set.

Well, here's an idea if the wiki hapens. There should be a listing of all the beta games known. But that should be seperate from the articles. That other site has a list like that, but it's in the section where the articles are, and it just makes the site look barren since you can see how many unwritten articles there are.

It's safe to say that we'll never create a wiki. A database, sure, but not a wiki. And, it would be independent of everything else.

I guess I can work on Assemblers wiki when I get time. That will be good enough.

Well what do you suggest they do? There can be no propagation of information if everyone has strictly original content, you know. And it's certainly not like they've stolen things word for word, either.

I remember this being more plagiarized in the old days, maybe someone finally fixed it up?

Do their own investigation? Or *gasp* link to the original site?

Or at the very least accredit the shit to the original source, even without a link.

Yeah, someone should tell the toastytech.com guy about their Doom pages. I knew I had read them somewhere before. (Links: Xcult page, Orignal page)

I think the problem there is that someone who never played the game wrote the article, so they didn't know how to articulate new writing for it. That is real plagerism there tho.

There are many shit heads out there say with authority: "E.T (Atari 2600) is the worst game ever made" and yet have never played said game.
Because these shit heads read about it being the worst game ever made
on some shitty website.
With midi music of Ironsword level 3 blaring into their ears at 3 am.

Yes, but at the same time, you're not defending E.T. as a possibly good game, are you? That game got my sister pregnant and didn't even call her. Also, it kicked my puppy once.

It's a bad one, I tell you.

(Disclaimer: I've never played the game myself, so I can't say anything one way or another about its actual quality, regardless of general opinions I may have heard, so this post is instead meant to be vaguely humorous, since the cold medication made me think that posting hyperbole would be funny, and also that adding a fine print disclaimer in the form of a run-on sentence might be funny, purple monkey dishwasher.)

No, not in any way, shape, form, or manner, am I defending "E.T" the game for your Atari 2600 video game system!
I have tried it on a few emulators, and it is really bad. But I have played worse. The point I am making is, that many people will make a stateent or claim, and have no qualification to say so. As a matter of fact, to get really technical, the only person who can state such and such game is the worst ever is someone who has played almost every game ever made. And that statement is itself subjective. Taste cannot be delegated, and I have Wonder Woman Underoos on right now as i type this.

I have fond memories playing E.T. with my cousin when it came out. We played and played, and got stuck in so many damn pits that we said screw it, and put in River Raid and actually had fun. True story.

ET was the only 2600 game i had for about 3 years. I did eventually pick up another dozen games a few weeks back, but ET is the only 2600 game i ever recall playing.

On actual hardware with an actual joystick it may be the second worst commercially released game i've played. Second only to big rigs.

Isn't Big Rigs that one horrendously glitchy game where it's possible to fall through the road you're driving on and stuff?
