Speaking of old game mags, I remember in an OLD issue of Gamepro it showed how to get Cleopatra to appear in Star Force in the secrets section. I just mowed through this game and blasted pretty much every conceivable spot of the playing field and turned up nothing. I don't recall it being in one of the Infinity levels (25-up).
I did read that in the arcade version you can finish levels quicker if you do certain things, so perhaps the Cleopatra icon was later in one of the levels I finished early.
Anyone got the Gamepro with this tip in it? |

I don't know what issue of GamePro it is in but if you just want the tip then it's between levels 12-16 (around halfway through) there are 3 sections with violet background. At the end of the 3rd section you will see a fish skeleton on the left. If you go to the right side and shoot, your bullets will hit an invisible object that eventually appears as a small icon of Cleopatra. If you then shoot the icon enough times, a cool message appears on the screen and you will receive an enormous 1,000,000 fortune bonus. Even when you know what to do, Cleopatra is extremely hard to get and success usually depends on how many enemies are coming at you during the time when you have to shoot at the Cleopatra icon.

Oh, and how on earth does anyone ever beat any version of StarForce without cheating?
LAUGHING OUT LOUD, the ending to the American Starforce for NES has the dumbest ending. "Congratulations! Look for Super Star Force coming soon!" It never came out here, and Japan doesn't have that ending...it just loops, I think. Well, it loops in my pirate cart. The Game Genie codes don't work on the JP version, and for some reason, can't be adapted either. It seems the line of code to adjust lives is differently written in the JP version.
Besides the NES version, do any other versions of SF have an ending? The arcade one just loops the Infinity level, iirc, like the JP pirate FC one I have.

Does that include the Canadian Nintendo Power Flash newsletters?
For that matter, does anyone know if Nintendo Power Flash is just reprinted content from the American Fun Club News or if it's actually different text? I don't have any of the American ones, and just one Nintendo Power Flash sitting around, so I don't have anything to compare. |

Repeating from a couple years ago, I'm more than willing to send whoever my old magazines. Take out the pages, feed-scan them in, do whatever with them. I just needed to know where and when to send them. I've got a list online, somewhere. |

Same goes for me, someday I might just find a pro who does this for a living. There are a number of universities that wholesale scan their book archives with $10,000 machines, too! |

If someone bought me a feed scanner, I'd do it. :) It would really, really suck, I know this before even before the beginning, but I'd do it. |

The trick is, it'd have to be one of those nice $500 deals, oh yes. |

You'd burn it out before you got through with the mags, I bet. Warranty! |
