“Something big is coming to the Virtual Console, something that, for the past decade, certain corners of the retro community have been crying out for. I wish I could say more, but the uncertainties of publishing schedules prevents me from spilling the beans too early. Nevertheless, if what we’ve heard turns out to be true, the virtual console is about to become a lot more interesting and looks like it might turn out to be much more valuable to dedicated retro gamers than we first thought.”

"Everybody seems to be grasping the wrong end of the stick, where that comment’s concerned. The mystery game in question isn’t actually a console game and wasn’t made in Japan. So everyone who’s guessing at Mario RPG or NiGHTS 2 is going to be disappointed."

These are the official clues. That and you can see the letter A in the magazine article title in the pic. So again, you can't guess games that were made in Japan.

Maybe they can bring back Sega Channel... there were those games who saw their only english release on the Sega Channel, like Megaman: The Wily Wars, and Golden Axe III. And the special editions of games like Earthworm Jim.

But that's about as likely as Sony dropping prices on their PS3 before Christmas.

I really hope so.

That, and Garfield: The lost levels.

Based on Hudson's hints, I still think it's Splatterhouse, not Alien Crush. Besides, what fans are clammering for Alien Crush? If there are any, I can probably count them on my fingers.

alien crush was my first experience of the tg-16 (for some odd reason brand new pal units have been popping up on uk sites recently and alien crush seems to be the pre-packaged game of choice) and i was severly disapointed in it, i mean i liked psycho pinball on the genesis/megadrive but alien crush is just really boring... or it that just me?
